Book Biz Annoucements

My second book entitled, The Orphan, recently received the International Impact Book Award in the genre of 'Christian Fiction'. It was one of the two winners out of a field of 10 entries competing for the award in January of this year. I feel truly blessed to have been chosen to have this honor bestowed upon me, and grateful for being included among many in the community of authors that were recognized for their achievements.
CERTIFICATE

EMBLEM
Pictured are photos of the trophy I will receive in April of this year, as well as digital images of the official Emblem and Certificate in my name. My sincere thanks to Ms. Nim Stant, Founder of the International Impact Book Awards for this great honor.
The Awards Gala and Banquet mentioned in my previous post has come and gone but unfortunately, I was unable to attend. I will be submitting another entry later this year in hopes of being among the list of winners again, so stay tuned for more information about my entry and dates for the event.

New Library Addition
My new book, 'Eclipsed by Fate', has been added to the Pedestal Key 'Book Shelf'. As I mentioned before, it is the sequel to the 3rd story in my first book (Keys-Portraits of Trials & Truth), published in 2020 by Christian Faith Publishing. The book is currently available in paperback as well as electronic formats, so consider adding this title to your shopping list. It will make the perfect Holiday Gift for lovers of suspenseful crime dramas, but at its core also contains mystical as well as spiritual overtones. The complete book summary and order details can be found on the 'Books by James Lloyd' order platform on this site. The Ebook version is also available on Kobo.com, where you can also leave a book review directly on the site. You must Go to their link, (https:/www.kobo.com) if you are a visitor and create an account (free, with no obligation) in order to access the book review platform. Below is an excerpt from the book.
'Eclipsed by Fate' - Excerpt
'It was evident to the detectives that the players were high-rollers, willing to do whatever it took to remove any annoying liabilities out of their way; even to the extent of ending someone's life. Those players, for all intents and purposes, were still a mystery after months of investigative work. Rob's initial surveillance of the Dean and what he witnessed at Regency Square Townhomes was the first real break in the case. It came with the help of that vagabond mysteriously showing up inside the precinct, then just as quickly vanishing after informing detective Russell about what the Dean at Welker College knew. Diedrek's time in a coma only frustrated their efforts since what he may have known about his attacker, or why he was attacked, was still inside his head. They would unwittingly be rewarded soon enough though, with information from an unlikely source; a source that would provide the breakthrough they've been looking for.'
NOLA Adventures
I had a fantastic four days with my wife, my daughter, and my son in New Orleans the first week in April. It was a testament to the generosity shown to me and my wife by our children, who sponsored the entire trip. They each drove their own cars, including a 'Day Trip' to the Legacy Museum in Montgomery Alabama. They each logged almost 30 hours of driving, crossing four states; not counting the driving to and from venues while we were in New Orleans.
I had to reflect on what they often reminded me and my wife of, about growing up in our household. They treated with reverence what we tried to impart to them about staying committed to growing in their gifts, remaining prayerful in the lean times as well as in times of plenty, and the dividends you can expect from having a generous spirit; most of which we believe is just innate in them both.

After visiting several historic sites in New Orleans and experiencing the history and the culture, I was inspired to start devoting time to writing a work of fiction that will be loosely based on my onw personal experiences growing up. It will also contain accurate historical references to the small town in the Jim Crow south that I grew up in. I'm undecided about whether it will contain mixed-genres or not, but the objective is for it to at least be an intriguing read; stay tuned.
